TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF USE OF THE ELECTRONIC TICKETING SERVICES

1. PREAMBLE

1.1 The present website (https://hhticket.gr), hereinafter referred to as "website", has been created by and is property of the legal entity of public law "Hellenic Organization of Cultural Resources Development" (hereinafter referred to as "H.O.C.RE.D."), is governed by Law 4761/2020 and therefore has no obligation to register with G.E.MI. , nor is it covered by Law 4635/2019. H.O.C.RE.D. having its head office at, 57, Eleftheriou Venizelou Str. (Panepistimiou Str.), P.C. 105 64, Athens. H.O.C.RE.D. is supervised by the Ministry of Culture and has the exclusive right to issue entrance tickets to Archaeological Sites and Museums, pursuant to Law 4761/2020.
1.2 The use of the website implies the automatic acceptance of the terms and conditions of use. If any user does not accept for any reason one or more of the present terms and conditions, he/she must refrain from using the website and services, otherwise it is presumed that all the terms and conditions herein are unconditionally accepted by that user. It is noted that refusal to accept any of the terms herein will result in the inability to provide the services chosen by the user through the website.
1.3 3 H.O.C.RE.D. reserves the right to modify at any time unilaterally and without notice or information the present terms of use. Any amended version of these terms and conditions shall be posted on the website, replacing the previous one. For this reason, users must in any case, before receiving any service through the website, be informed of the terms of use of the website and, if necessary, accept the modified terms again.

2. GENERAL TERMS OF USE

2.1 Users of the services provided through the website must be at least 18 years of age, have legal capacity and, if acting on behalf of third parties, be legally authorized to do so.
2.2 The users of the website services are divided into two categories, users - visitors and users - partners. A user- partner account may be created by natural or legal persons who legally operate a tourist office in Greece or in a country of the European Union, in accordance with the applicable provisions. Furthermore, certified guides may also create a user-partner account for the purpose of issuing a free admission card, after attaching the data and supporting documents requested by the system.
2.3 3 For the successful completion of the provision of services through the website the disclosure by the user and the collection and processing by H.O.C.RE.D. of information that may constitute personal data is necessary. Each user of the website and the services provided through it gives his/her unconditional consent to H.O.C.RE.D. to collect, use and transmit to third party providers the information required for the provision of the services, under the terms and conditions set out in chapter 4.
2.4 If any user does not agree with the collection, use, processing and/or transmission of the personal data provided in accordance with these terms, he/she must refrain from using the services, otherwise it is presumed that all the terms herein are unconditionally accepted by that user.
2.5 The procedure, data and information required in each case, either for the reception and/or management of the services that the user requests or receives from H.O.C.RE.D., or for the registration/creation of a user account, are specified and may be unilaterally modified by H.O.C.RE.D.. These data include, but are not limited to, name, e-mail address, country of origin, category of ticket holder, etc. or even data proving the legal operation of a travel agency in Greece or in a country of the European Union, in accordance with the applicable provisions.
2.6 Failure to comply with the required procedure and/or failure to insert the requested data results in the inability to access the user account or the services provided in general. It is noted that H.O.C.RE.D. uses cookies, aiming at the optimal and safer use of the website and the services provided through it.
2.7 Access data to the services of H.O.C.RE.D., whether they have been selected by the user or have been automatically created by the systems of H.O.C.RE.D. and have been communicated to him/her (such as, for example, indicatively and not restrictively, reservation codes, passwords, ticket numbers, etc.), are strictly personal and must not be communicated to third parties. H.O.C.RE.D. bears no responsibility for the use of these data by a third party, authorized or not by the user
2.8 H.O.C.RE.D. declares that it makes every effort, but does not guarantee that the pages, services, options and contents will be provided without interruption and errors. In view of the nature of the electronic services provided and the accessibility requirements, H.O.C.RE.D. does not guarantee the uninterrupted operation of the website but makes every effort to inform the public in a timely manner about the ticketing procedure from this website or from physical points of sale.
2.9 H.O.C.RE.D. does not guarantee or bear any responsibility for the availability of all the services and facilities provided by the archaeological site or museum, but displays the relevant information on the website, as communicated by the managers of each site, which belongs to the competence of the Hellenic Ministry of Culture and Sports.

3. SPECIAL TERMS FOR THE ISSUE OF TICKETS

3.1 By placing an order and issuing tickets by the users, it is presumed that users have read and accept all these terms and conditions, by selecting the corresponding box in the transaction form.
A. PURCHASE OF TICKETS
3.2 To purchase tickets, users must follow the instructions on the website and select the correct type and number of tickets, at their sole responsibility. For the users-partner to purchase their tickets, they must create a user-partner account, following the instructions in the relevant link. H.O.C.RE.D. issues tickets according to the information that users choose to fill in and is not responsible in any case for any errors occurred.
3.3 The days of free entrance for the public are: (a) the first and third Sunday of each month from 1 November to 31 March each year; (b) the 28th of October (National Day); (c) the 18th of April (International Monuments Day); (d) the 18th of May (International Museum Day); (e) the last weekend of September each year (European Heritage Days); (f) the 6th of March (Melina Mercouri Memorial Day). On these days the public can enter archaeological sites and museums free of charge.
3.4 Each ticket is valid for one person, for the site and duration of validity indicated on it. If the system provides that admission to a particular site takes place within a specific time zone, users - visitors must select the time zone they wish to enter when purchasing their tickets. Admission to the site shall take place exclusively within the time zone selected. Users - visitors may change the time zone they have chosen for admission to the site no later than fourteen (14) days before the scheduled date of their visit.
3.5 Tickets issued by users-partners up to and including 31/03/2025 are valid for any and all dates within the respective visit period. Tickets issued by users-partners as of 01/04/2025 and onward will remain valid for one (1) year. If the system provides that admission to a specific site takes place within a specific time zone, the user-partner must select the desired time zone of the visit no later than twenty-four (24) hours before the time of the visit.
B. PAYMENT
3.6 The prices referred on the website in correspondence with each type of ticket constitute the total price required for the entrance to the relevant archaeological site or museum. The aforesaid prices referred on the website may be amended at any time by the H.O.C.RE.D., in accordance with the applicable procedure for determining the right to admission by the Hellenic Ministry of Culture and Sports.
3.7 The fee shall be paid by one of the payment methods supported by the website and indicated in the relevant fields and in accordance with the instructions indicated on the transaction form. Payment is mainly made by debit or credit card of the specific type or types disclosed on the website; for partner enterprises payment via web banking is also provided, while other payment methods may also be provided, in accordance with the instructions and conditions disclosed to the user by the H.O.C.RE.D. from time to time. Each user must use a debit or credit card of which he is the legal holder and authorised user.
3.8 The debit or credit card holder's details are filled in and processed directly in the system of the credit institution or payment service provider cooperating with the H.O.C.RE.D., which carries out the card transaction, which applies internationally certified security protocols for the security of transactions. H.O.C.RE.D. shall not keep user credit card data in its systems.
3.9 For security reasons, H.O.C.RE.D. is entitled to reject the user's order, not to proceed with the issuance of tickets, as well as not to complete and/or cancel the transaction. In such a case, H.O.C.RE.D. is entitled to request at any time, in the context of the provision and billing of services, the submission by any user of the data it deems necessary (e.g. copy of identity card or passport and/or credit or debit card, proof of address, etc.), in order to identify the details of the user of the services with those of the holder of the credit or debit card used, but also for any other reason deemed necessary by the H.O.C.RE.D. in the context of the provision of the services.
3.10 In case of automatic rejection of the booking for security reasons, the refund is made immediately to the user. In case of cancellation of the transaction for security reasons, the refund is made to the user according to the rules of international card schemes. It is expressly pointed out that after entering the site for which the ticket has been issued, no refund will be made for any reason whatsoever.
C. RECEIPT OF TICKETS
3.11 Upon completion of the transaction, users receive the regular full price tickets by e-mail in a pdf file.
3.12 Provided that the presentation of identification is sufficient to prove the right to a reduced admission fee or free admission, beneficiaries of reduced admission fee or free admission (see here) receive the tickets by e-mail in a pdf file and must present their ticket and original identification at the checkpoint upon entering the archaeological site or museum.
3.13 In the event that the ticket holder does not present the required documents of paragraph 3.13 or the documents presented do not prove the required status for reduced admission fee or free admission, he/she will not be allowed to enter the site. In this case the holder will not be entitled to a change of the ticket issued and not accepted or a refund of the fee paid for its issue.
3.14 In cases where the proof of the right to a reduced admission fee or free admission is not sufficient by presenting the identification data but further supporting documents are required, users receive by e-mail a proof of purchase with the purchase details of the ticket, which includes a code corresponding to their transaction. In order to receive their tickets, they must present the above proof of purchase in paper or electronic form at the ticket offices of the site on the day of their visit, showing their original identification and the required supporting documents.
3.15 In case the status, on the basis of which the beneficiary is entitled to free admission, can be certified by documents that can be automatically searched by H.O.C.RE.D. through an official national digital portal, upon completion of the transaction, the beneficiary receives from H.O.C.RE.D. via e-mail a relevant bar code (qr code), the scanning of which is sufficient for entry to the site.
3.16 For tickets issued by user-partners, if the order includes only regular full price tickets, as well as reduced admission fee or free admission tickets, for the proof of which it is sufficient to show the identification data in accordance with paragraph 3.13, these will be sent by e-mail in pdf format.
D. CANCELLATION AND AMENDMENT POLICY
3.17 The present conditions of electronic ticketing relate to an activity that falls within the exceptions of article 3IB of Law No. 2251/1994 (A’ 191) for consumer protection and the relevant provisions of Article 16 of Directive 2011/83/EU.
3.18 Therefore, subject to paragraphs 3.20, 3.21 and 3.22, after the completion of the transaction, it is not possible to change the ticket details, cancel or return the ticket, as well as refund for any reason. Furthermore, the value of tickets that have been lost, stolen, or destroyed is not covered.
3.19 If the site is closed for visitors on the day of arrival due to force majeure, the duration of the validity of the ticket may be extended, upon notification of the user, or the ticket price may be refunded. In the latter case, users accept that the H.O.C.RE.D., apart from the refund of the value of the ticket paid, is not liable for compensation for any other cause or expense arising from the cancellation of the visit.
3.20 Especially in the case of the summer and the winter seasons up to 01/04/2025, for tickets (a) issued by users-partners for a visit to an Archaeological Site/Museum, within the timeframe of that Archaeological Site’s or Museum’s hours of operation; and (b) not set within any zones or made available to the public, it is permitted, once and only once, to have said tickets carried over to the following year, and use up to and including 31/03/2026, provided that the value of the fee has not been increased. In the event of an increase in the value of the ticket price, the number of tickets in question, which are carried over per category to the next visit period and exchanged for new ones, shall be reduced by a percentage corresponding to the percentage of the increase by rounding down the number of tickets to the nearest whole number, where applicable. In the event of a reduction in the value of the ticket price, the number of tickets carried over per category to the next visit period remains the same and the user-partner accepts that she/he is not entitled to a refund of any amount of money or any compensation for this reason.
E. TERMS OF VISIT
3.21 The purchase of the ticket entitles the ticket holder to enter and tour the archaeological site or museum on the day or during the period indicated on the ticket, provided that he/she accepts and observes the operation rules of the site. The admission of the visitor to the site implies the unconditional acceptance of these terms and conditions.
3.22 The ticket is presented at the site checkpoint, checked by scanning the special code and cancelled according to the instructions of the security staff. In case of free admission or purchase of a reduced admission fee ticket (student, elderly, unemployed, etc.), the holder must bring with him/her, to be shown at the entrance of the site, identification and the required documents proving the right to a free admission or a reduced admission fee ticket, otherwise he/she will not be allowed to enter.
3.23 The ticket is valid for a single entry to each site for which it states that it is valid and is valid only if it has been sold from an official point of sale of the H.O.C.RE.D. Anyone presenting a forged ticket or a ticket that does not come from an official point of sale is subject to criminal and civil penalties. The first person presenting the ticket is considered the legal holder, every other person presenting a print of the same ticket will not be allowed entry
3.24 The exchange, resale and, in general, the trading of tickets is prohibited. If it is ascertained that tickets are made available illegally, including their exchange, resale and, in general, their trading and/or purchase, so that they be used in any and all ways and by any and all means the subject of a business, commercial, and advertising activity or any other type of activity, said tickets will be invalidated and H.O.C.RE.D. will proceed to striking the user-partner involved off the electronic ticket sales system for a time period of two (2) years, following the relevant justified decision taken by its Board of Directors. Should the stricken-off user-partner after her/his reinstatement, engage again in such illegal activities, the time period of two (2) years cited in the previous case will be doubled to four (4) years, according to the provisions of Article 14A, Law 4761/2020. It is noted that the type of tickets issued by H.O.C.RE.D., may vary depending on the point of sale.
3.25 Those responsible for the operation of the site may prohibit entry to persons who are under the influence of alcohol or drugs, carrying bottles or other dangerous or sharp or flammable objects or objects that may serve as weapons, even if they are ticket holders. The ticket holder accepts the possibility of having his/her personal belongings checked as part of the above prohibitions.
3.26 Visitors must keep the ticket stub throughout the visit and show it to security staff when requested. After leaving the site, the ticket expires and cannot be reused for entry.
3.27 The public must comply with the instructions of security staff and site managers.
F. ADJUSTED GROUP VISITS
3.28. Groups over five (5) members can purchase an adjusted group ticket for their visit to the archaeological site of the Acropolis. The days and times of such groups’ visit are those foreseen and issued by the regulatory authorities.
3.29 The adjusted group visit ticket is issued in the name of each group’s leader. It is valid for a visit on the specific day and time zone selected and cannot be transferred to any previous or subsequent time zone. Group ticket holders have the option to: (a) change the day and time zone they have selected for admission to the Acropolis archaeological site, as long as there are other time zones available; and (b) change the group members’ personal data no later than fourteen (14) days prior to the visit date already scheduled.

4. FINAL PROVISIONS

4.1 The contract is of indefinite duration and governs the relationship between the parties until the completion of the visit and the resolution of all outstanding issues between H.O.C.RE.D. and the user. The relations between H.O.C.RE.D. and the users are governed by Greek Law, and the courts of Athens are exclusively competent for the resolution of any dispute that may arise.
